Big problem: our "Nodes" are both directories and files.

why is this a problem?

Unix supports hard links

Benefit is: ... multiple

we considering the same thing, to avoid runtime conflicts

Multi parent thing.. what does this mean from the user's perspective? Any benefit? no.

This was to help resolve some concurrent situations...

Conclusion: we can't have "hard links" (one file with multiple locations)!
